Rare Music: "An Introduction to Violin Making" with Bob O'Neal Talton
Bob O'Neal Talton will talk about making not only violins, but also violas, cellos, guitars, dulcimers, and banjos. He will bring instruments in different stages of completion to demonstrate the process of making an instrument. Musicians of all ages and abilities are encouraged to attend. Kids welcome!
Bob Talton has been making award-winning stringed instruments for more than thirty years. He does extensive research into the techniques of such old masters as Stradivarius, Guarneri and Amati, with critically acclaimed success. FREE and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. The Rare Music series is sponsored by DUMIC (Duke University Musical Instrument Collections) and Duke University Libraries. Limited reserved parking in front of Duke Chapel.
